His debut New Age album, Stairway to Nirvana, reached #1 on Amazon New Age pre-sales, charted among the world's leading New Age releases, won the InterContinental Music Award for Best of Asia, received a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination, was featured in multiple international music magazines, and was placed on the 64th Grammy Awards ballot. His newest album, Fractured Reflections, represents his most ambitious artistic statement to date. The album fuses orchestral, Indian classical, jazz, and modern New Age influences into a cinematic musical journey exploring fractured truth, migration, identity, compassion, and hope.
Throughout his career, Samir has collaborated with legendary artists including Kumar Sanu, Shaan, Rahul Deshpande, Pt. Ronu Majumdar, Rakesh Chaurasia, Louis Banks, Justine Blazer, Rhonda Head, and Madhumita Chatterjee. His productions have also benefited from collaborations with Grammy-winning engineers including Brian Vibberts and Lonnie Park. As a performer, he has shared the stage with iconic artists such as Jagjit Singh, Hemant Mukherjee, Runa Laila, Samina Chowdhury, Andrew Kishore, SI Tutul, Shaheb Chatterjee, and many others. He has composed music for the Bengali feature film Jokhon Eshechilem and the Hollywood crossover film Adios Mi Amigos.
Together with his wife and longtime musical collaborator Madhumita Chatterjee, Samir was featured on a recording nominated at the 66th Grammy Awards. He also serves as a Voting Jury Member of the Recording Academy, joining leading music professionals in recognizing artistic excellence.
Beyond music, Samir is internationally recognized as a scholar and innovator. He serves as the Fletcher Jones Chair and Professor at Claremont Graduate University in California, where his pioneering work in artificial intelligence and digital innovation has earned more than 25,000 scholarly citations.
