Fractured Reflections and The Unraveling FYC artwork featuring Samir Bodhi, Madhumita Chatterjee, Annemarie Picerno, Vivian Fang Liu, and Partha Paul

Samir Bodhi built Fractured Reflections around a simple question: what holds a person together when the pieces they came from feel scattered. The answer arrives across five compositions that move between orchestral scoring, Indian classical tradition, and contemporary New Age textures. From “The Unraveling” and “Borders of the Heart” to “Reflections,” “Echoes from the Margins,” and the climactic “What We Became,” the music gives voice to those pushed to society’s margins while inviting listeners to reflect on themselves and the world around them. At its heart lies an urgent question: What are we becoming as human beings? Yet beneath the pain and struggle, the album offers a timeless message of dignity, empathy, and hope, reminding us that no border can divide the human heart.

Album reviews

"Ultimately, Fractured Reflections is an album about the things that connect us beneath the differences that appear to separate us. Its themes of migration, identity, compassion, loss, hope and belonging are deeply relevant to contemporary life, but the album approaches them through human emotion rather than through argument. Together, the five tracks create a coherent journey that encourages the listener to pause and consider both the self and the world around it."

Vivek Kumar, New Music Alert

“There are moments when the world seems to fracture so completely that even our most familiar reflections become difficult to recognize. For Indian-American composer, guitarist, producer and academic Samir Bodhi and his wife, creative partner and vocalist Madhumita Chatterjee, that unsettling realization became the creative catalyst for Fractured Reflections, a provocative, socially conscious and deeply soul-stirring five-track new age/global fusion meditation that peers into the cracks of an increasingly divided world, asking what happens to compassion, belonging and our shared humanity when suspicion begins to dictate who we are allowed to see as “other.””
